2019 Signings

Signed/Listed players in 2019:

Joe Anderson – Known for putting the club and his fellow players ahead of himself, he quickly became an active contributor both on and off the field in 2018.
Abraham Ankers – The 2018 Ilett Medallist from Alice Springs has established himself as an elite midfielder and will line up for his fourth season representing NT Thunder.D
Dylan Barry – An accomplished player at just 22, Barry will drive the standards of our Alice Springs-based players.
Patrick Boles – Has overcome a groin injury and can play as both an inside contested midfielder or an outside, hard running one.
Michael Bowden – A friendly face who was at the club in 2015 and 2016 but returns with maturity and as one of the in-form defenders of the NTFL.
Jess Budarick – A talented youngster from Katherine, who started with the Katherine Camels before crossing over to the NTFL with the Big River Hawks and on to Nightcliff for senior footy.
Brodie Carroll – A new addition to the Thunder line-up in 2019 and originally from Katherine, the Waratah on-baller has been one of the standout youngsters of the NTFL.
Tom Davies – Predominantly known for his defensive efforts and ‘can do’ attitude, NT Thunder Head Coach Darren Reeves said Davies’ role could be expanded on this season.
Kieran Delahunty – Predominantly used as a forward, Delahunty can also play in defence and has enjoyed previous stints as a backup ruckman
Hugo Drogemuller – Over the past two seasons Drogemuller has established himself as a fan favourite and was part of the leadership group in 2018, while predominantly playing as a centre-half forward.
Sam Dyke – A no-nonsense defender who played his first season in 2018 and will be an integral part of the defensive structure this season.
Dominic Forbes – Was impressive in his senior debut season in 2018, travelling from Alice Springs for two games. He has excellent football smarts and game awareness
Jarred Erlandson – Enters his third consecutive season for Thunder (his fourth overall), and will look to get his body right to improve on the four games he played in 2018.
Josiah Farrer – The younger brother of Will Farrer, Josiah is another from the Southern Districts 2017/18 NTFL Premiership team to sign on for 2019.
Will Farrer – After a five-year absence, the four-time NTFL leading goalkicker is a big inclusion to the 2019 squad.
Clinton Gallio – Son of NT footy great, Wally Gallio the ough inside midfielder who has been setting the NTFL alight with Southern Districts.
David Johnston – Another new face to the 2019 NEAFL squad signing is the key forward with WAFL experience, but who was born in Alice Springs.
Jack Hannath – At 201cm and 102kgs, the South Australian is an ex-AFL and SANFL player whose primary role is in the ruck but he is also a very mobile player with an elite kick.
Ethan Liddle – The 22 year old has been described as having excellent work rate both sides of the ball as well as being a nice ball user.
Nigel Lockyer – Lockyer is a key position player who is adept at playing at either end of the ground and had a consistent 2018/19 NTFL season finishing up runner up in the Best & Fairest for the Palmerston Magpies.
Dylan McLachlan – NT born and bred McLachlan has risen through the ranks at Southern Districts but will play his first NT representative season in 2019.
Braedon McLean – A member of the NT Thunder leadership group in 2018, McLean has now played 39 games for NT Thunder and has 12 goals to go with it.
Trent Melville – NT Thunder is thrilled to welcome the NTFL’s leading goalkicker, Trent Melville to his first season of NEAFL as we are on our way to finding a ‘Boof’ replacement.
Jack Monigatti – Monigatti, who came from playing with the Tiwi Bombers in the NTFL was one of only three players to play all 18 games for the Club in 2018.
Nathaniel Paredes – One of the most exciting players in the NTFL over recent seasons, the tough midfielder has signed to play in 2019 and 2020 with Thunder and will come back from a broken fibula early in the 2019 season.
Kieren Parnell – After undergoing surgery in mid-2017, Parnell has been diligent with his rehab and did his first 2km time trial towards the back end of the 2018 NEAFL season in hopes of making his debut in 2019.
Kaine Riley – Riley played his first season in 2018, amassing 15 games to become a reliable fixture down back with his capacity to perform on both tall and shorter opposition.
Ben Rioli – Return or his seventh season since debuting in the 2012 season, and has quickly established himself as a favourite amongst fans, coaches and players.
Shannon Rioli – “Shan is an inspiring leader on and off the field and it is humbling to know how deep his respect for the Thunder program and love for the Club runs,” said NT Thunder Manager Andrew Hodges about the captain.
Malcolm Rosas – One of the brightest prospects in the NT, Rosas made his senior debut in 2018 and has remained in impressive form, winning the 2018/19 NTFL Rising Star Award. Will play senior games again after Academy and Allies duties are complete.
Tyler Saunders – He showed signs that he could add value to the midfield group with his ability to play as an inside mid but also slot into defence if required.
Jeffrey Simon – Up and coming Territory talent Jeffrey Simon was the first rookie to be signed to NT Thunder’s list in 2019, off the back of great performances with the Tiwi Bombers in the NTFL.
Sam Smith – Is renowned for his flying defensive efforts, and had an outstanding second year in 2018, which saw him develop as a leader and a key player for the team. Unfortunately, in December, it was confirmed he tore the ACL in his left knee following an incident in the NTFL, so will miss the 2019 season.
Dean Staunton – A 2011 premiership player who hasn’t played at the Club since 2013 but will be a welcome addition to our midfield group in 2019.
Joel Stevens – Added to the rookie list for 2019, Stevens is an Academy player who was very impressive in the 2018/19 NTFL season. He has risen through the ranks, starting with Thunder Juniors when he was a child.
Sam Talbot – Known as ‘Mr Versatile’ the Palmerston player can play any position on the field and play either an attacking or defensive-type role.
Richard Tambling – In 2018 he notched up his 50th game with the Territory team, was named in the NT Thunder Team of the Decade and is a valued and much-loved player of the club.
Ben Taylor – Originally from Stawell in country Victoria, the rookie-listed Taylor relocated to Darwin in late 2018 and the midfielder is craving an opportunity at a higher level.
Jacob Templeton – The 2018 Reserves Magarey Medallist with the SANL, Templeton is a big bodied midfielder that NT Thunder has been on the hunt for since Sam Smith went down with a season-ending injury.
Adam Tipungwuti – One of the most exhilarating players to watch in the NTFL,Adam Tipungwuti will play his first season for NT Thunder, based on the Tiwi Islands.
Ross Tungatalum – From the Tiwi Islands, ‘Rocco’ will play his fourth season with the club and is a 2011 premiership player who is still known as the ‘human highlights reel’.
Daniel Weetra – Going into his fifth season with Thunder the respected defender can play tall and small but will likely also be used through the midfield in 2019.
Chris Williams – Williams is a hard-working midfielder with a positive attitude that helped ensure that he didn’t miss a game in 2018.
Philip Wills – a highly respected clubman has made his name synonymous with Territory footy and NT Thunder. A 50-game player for the Club he has overcome injury setbacks and put in a lot of hard work and dedication to lead both on and off the field.
Nick Yarran – At 21-years-old, Yarran is well known for his clean skills and pace at NTFL level, where he is a previous winner of the Rising Star Award.
