NT Thunder Football Club welcomes Josiah Farrer to the 2019 NEAFL line up, in what will be his first season representing the club.

The younger brother of Will Farrer, Josiah is another from the Southern Districts 2017/18 NTFL Premiership team to sign on.

He has played nine games for the Crocs in the current season, including a standout game in Round 17 where he kicked three goals to ignite a win against Waratah.

Farrer has played alongside brother Will for Ouyen United in the Sunraysia League for the past three winters and kicked a goal in their premiership win in 2018.

He was awarded the Victoria Country medal for best on ground in the 2016 Premiership and played in the losing grand final team in 2017.

NT Thunder Head Coach Darren Reeves said he was delighted to have Farrer in a Thunder jumper for 2019.

“He will add to our midfield depth and forward line rotations and has the ability to play back.

“He’s a big strong body, has great football smarts, is excellent around contests and will be a great addition for us,” he said.

NT Thunder Manager Andrew Hodges said Farrer had been on his wish list for the past few seasons.

“Josiah is amongst some of the best talent in the NTFL and it’s great to attract him to the Thunder program.

“It’s a Territory side, and with Josiah based and working in Katherine, it’s great to have a player from that region on our list. Joe is an outstanding person, and he will add a lot of value to the overall program” he said.

Farrer said he was very excited to be part of the Thunder program and to represent the Territory.

“I’m so thankful to be given this opportunity, and I’m going to grab it with both hands and make the most of everything that comes my way,” he said.
