NT Thunder has added the first ‘new’ player to its 2018 NEAFL list by signing Darwin Buffaloes midfielder Chris Williams.

Williams, who is from Western Australia, has lived in Darwin for the past year and has played the last two NTFL seasons with the Buffaloes.

2018 will mark his first season in a Thunder jumper.

An inside-mid who likes a contested ball situation, in the 10 NTFL games Williams has played this season he has kicked four goals.

The 24-year-old impressed Thunder Head Coach Andrew Hodges with his work-rate and by signalling his intent to play at a higher level.

“I have been keeping a close eye on Chris the past couple of months, and it’s clear he is a consistent performer who has been an integral part of the Buffs resurgence and subsequent climb up the NTFL ladder.

“His work-rate on the field is admirable and I couldn’t be happier with the way he has bought into the Thunder program so far,” Hodges said.
