After making his NEAFL debut in Round 14, Joel went on to play the remaining seven games of the season. Joel is the younger brother of Jess, also from Katherine and was a co-captain of the NT Thunder Under 18 Academy side in 2019. He played 18 games for Nightcliff in the 2018/19 NTFL Men’s Premiers League season including being in the winning Grand Final team.
