NT Thunder welcomes local backing in Hutchinson Builders

AFLNT and NT Thunder are delighted to welcome Hutchinson Builders as a new corporate sponsor for 2018.

Hutchinson Builders has a story not unlike Territory footy. It is a family business passed down through the generations for 105 years, surviving World Wars, cyclones and economic downturn and is the definition of a true Aussie battler, who despite its struggles, is now one of the most successful and largest privately-owned construction companies in Australia.

Hutchinson Builders core business is commercial construction.

Peter Lee, Hutchinson Builders’ Darwin team leader said; “We at Hutchies pride ourselves on being able to design and construct a vast range of facilities that will benefit the wider local community.

“No job is too large or too small for Hutchies, and we stick to our word on that. We do a lot of small refurbishments and residential work as well as the big ‘mega’ projects”.

Lee said the Winnellie office in Darwin proudly hires locals who know and love the NT and are committed to supporting their local and remote communities.

“There’s something about our Hutchies culture that sets us aside from other large businesses. We work hard to pull together to get the best results for our clients and the community – no matter what we’re up against. We celebrate our achievements together, support local communities, and believe in a ‘fair go’ for everyone.”

“Many of the project team have been here for a number of years, and are all passionate supporters of NT Thunder and the AFLNT run leagues. They love that their employer is backing the event as a corporate sponsor.

“We’re all pretty chuffed that Hutchies is backing the game so generously,” said Hutchinson Builders contract administrator and long-term local Letitia Wing. “It kind of feels like supporting the extended family. Hutchies puts a lot of emphasis on giving back to the community, which I love.”

Hutchinson Builders are passionate about being involved in the local sporting community, giving back and seeing NT Thunder develop and grow.

“You will see us around for a long while yet, and we are excited for the future of our local Hutchies team and the future of our local community,” said Lee.

AFLNT CEO Stu Totham said NT Thunder was proud to be associated with Hutchinson Builders and being backed by such a prominent local business was vital to the success of the club.

“We know Hutchies are good builders, but they’re also good guys and their support is integral to the success of NT Thunder and delivering the programs and up keeping the facilities that we need.

We love seeing them around at the footy and look forward to welcoming them into the Thunder family,” he said.
