After some time away from NT Thunder, Damian Williams has committed to playing for the Club for the first time since 2012.

Williams, who plays for the Darwin Buffaloes in the NTFL has always been regarded as a talented prospect, joining Greater Western Sydney as a scholarship player in 2010.

During year 11 and 12, Williams lived in Sydney and played with some of the AFL’s current best talents including Adam Treloar, Dylan Shiel and NT product Curtly Hampton.

Williams played 10 games in the TAC Cup for GWS before their inception into the AFL competition in 2012.

Previously at Thunder, Williams played 13 games including a losing Grand Final, where he was named amongst the best players.

The Katherine native was awarded the NT News Rising Star nomination in Round 10 of the 2016/17 NTFL season after a seven-goal performance against Waratah.

Thunder Head Coach Andrew Hodges is pleased to have another strong Territorian player re-commit to Thunder in 2017.

“Williams is an exciting NT talent, and we are very happy to have him back in Thunder colours this year.

“He has proven ability and can have a big impact on games either up forward or down back,” Hodges said.

The versatile speedster will be a welcome inclusion to Thunder’s senior list and looks to build on his previous games tally.
