NT Thunder is happy to announce Josh Cheek has re-signed with the club for the 2018 NEAFL Season.

The small inside midfielder played four games with NT Thunder in 2017 after debuting in Round 9 vs GWS Giants at TIO Stadium.

His best game was in Round 19 where he kicked three goals against Sydney University.

Cheek is currently serving in the Australian Defence Force with the Army and is a member of the National Army Kangaroos.

He was also selected to play for the Australian Defence Force All-Stars against the ACES (Australian combined emergency services) in the 2017 ANZAC Round 5 AFL curtain raiser before Port Adelaide v Carlton.

He is currently playing in the TIO NTFL finals series for St Mary’s Football Club after crossing over from the Palmerston Magpies in the off season.

NT Thunder Head Coach, Andrew Hodges said Cheek is a great player to have around the Club.

“Josh’s game has improved and his NTFL form this season has been great with St Mary’s, playing almost every game.

“He sets the tone at training and even though he didn’t play too many Thunder games last year his effort and attitude is outstanding,” Hodges said.
