NT Thunder has made three changes as they travel to the ACT to take on the Canberra Demons at Manuka Oval in Round 11 of the 2018 NEAFL season.
Michael Mummery will line up in his first Thunder game for 2018 after playing for the U18 National Allies team last week and will rejoin his fellow NT Thunder Academy U18 teammate Rodney Baird in the senior Thunder team.
Mummery made his debut in 2016 as a 15-year-old making him the youngest ever NT Thunder debut player and went on to play six NEAFL games that year. He played just the one game in 2017 before being hampered with illness and injury.
Also coming back into the side is Alice Springs-based Jamie Hampton after overcoming a quad complaint and Ross Tungatalum, who is set to inject his electric pace and ball mastery into the line-up.
Going out of the side are Cam Glover (injury), Ryan Smith and Jarrod Stokes (both unavailable).
NT Thunder Head Coach Andrew Hodges said the team focus remained on playing four consistent quarters.
“We’ve got a lot of NT talent coming into the team, the magic of Rocco and Mummery will add to the X-factor in the forward half of the ground.
“Mummery had some good showings in the Academy series for the NT, before training with the Geelong Cats and playing in a winning Allies side all in the last few weeks and he continues to prove himself in his draft year.
“There’s a good feeling among the group, a workmanlike attitude to getting in and getting the job done. We had a really good review as well and the boys are focused and ready for this weekend,” he said.
