After weeks of speculation and badgering on social media from his fans, NT Thunder is pleased to announce the re-signing of tall timber, Daniel Russell for his second season at the Club.

Russell, who has played 25 Premier League games for Palmerston since moving to Darwin from Victoria, will look to build on the seven NEAFL games he played in 2016.

The 26-year-old has been in good form of late and caught the eye of NT Thunder Head Coach, Andrew Hodges who said he earned his spot.

“Daniel has been a pillar of strength for Palmerston in the NTFL, and we are hoping he can carry that form over to the NEAFL.

“It is great to have him back for his second year at Thunder.

“He is a disciplined, hard-working tall utility with the ability to play as a key defender or go through the ruck,” Hodges said.
