In 2019, Paredes joined NT Thunder after an impressive 2018/19 NTFL season with the St Mary’s Football Club. A key member of the 2016/17 NTFL premiership side he has back to back Best and Fairest medals with St Mary’s for the 2016/17 and 2017/18 seasons. Born in Melbourne to parents of Chilean and Cuban descent, Paredes grew up playing soccer and didn’t switch to Australian Football until he was 16-years-old. He joined NT Thunder with experience playing for Casey Demons in the VFL with the tough inside midfielder is looking to now make his mark at NEAFL level.
