Templeton was awarded the 2018 SANFL Reserves Magarey Medal and after his first season with Thunder in 2019 he finished fifth in the Club’s Ilett Medal count. At 193cm and 96kg, Templeton is a big bodied utility who has played 64 League and 66 Reserves games in the SANFL. Templeton played his junior footy with Golden Grove Football Club in Adelaide before joining Central Districts in 2011 and continuing in 2012. An equally gifted basketballer as a footballer, he then spent a couple of years playing college basketball at North Iowa in America.
