McLean was originally recruited from the Wanderers Football Club in the NTFL. The classy utility has been an NT Thunder Academy graduate in previous years and is closing in on 50 NEAFL games. He wears the number 19 NT Thunder jumper, the same number his uncle Michael ‘Magic’ McLean wore at the Brisbane Bears and during his representative career.
