After his impressive performance, playing all 18 games during the 2019 NEAFL season, Rioli finished runner up in the Ilett Medal count at NT Thunder’s Club Champion night. On top of this, he also received the Club’s Players’ Player Award for his efforts both on and off the field. Rioli first made his debut for NT Thunder in the 2012 season. The younger of two Rioli brothers playing for Thunder, he was named in the backline of NT Thunder’s Team of the Decade. With his trademark helmet and clean skills, Rioli is renowned for his dash out of defence. Originally recruited from the famous St Mary’s Football Club in the NTFL.
