Tipungwuti made his NEAFL debut for the Sydney Swans in 2018, kicking three goals in impressive fashion before returning home to the Northern Territory to continue playing in the NTFL. He made his NTFL Premier League debut with the Tiwi Bombers as a 16-year-old and has now notched up over 100 games at the top level, which includes a season with Wanderers in 2016/17. In 2018, Tipungwuti tested well at the Rookie Me Combine, rating among the top-five for the vertical jump and agility tests.
