After a stellar season, Abraham Ankers received the highest honours at the 2018 NT Thunder Club Champions being named the Ilett Medallist. On top of this, he also received the club’s Players’ Player award for his efforts both on and off the field throughout the 2018 NEAFL season. The Centralian was joint runner-up in the 2017 Ilett Medal and winner of the Under 23 Best Talent award. He moved to Alice Springs from Brisbane as a 15-year-old and immediately fell in love with the Federal Football Club. Ankers was an integral part of Thunder’s midfield group in 2018 playing all 18 games and averaged an impressive 26 disposals.
