The NT Thunder Football Club is excited to announce details for the season launch of the inaugural NT Thunder Women’s team who will play in the Victorian Football League (VFLW) in the 2018 season.

Limited tickets are available by calling AFLNT reception on 08 8980 4801 during office hours or emailing AFLNTEvents@afl.com.au.

Ticket sales close 5pm Monday 30 April 2018 and are $70 per person.

Held at the Michael Long Learning and Leadership Centre on 12pm -2pm Wednesday 2 May, the luncheon will include an appearance by special guest speaker, Nicole Livingstone, OAM and AFL’s Head of Women’s Football.

Livingstone, a three-time Olympic swimmer, respected sports administrator and commentator, joined the AFL in December 2017 to oversee the growth and management of the NAB AFL Women’s Competition and female football participation.

AFLNT CEO Stuart Totham said the launch will be a momentous occasion for women’s football in the NT.

“We are all looking forward to seeing our ThunderW team compete in the VFLW competition, which is such an exciting addition to our talent pathways in the NT and gives our women a fantastic opportunity to showcase their talent.

“To have the head of women’s football, Nicole Livingstone OAM, join us for the event and impart some of her secrets to success, is a great coup and she will no doubt be able to witness first-hand how excited we Territorians are about our new ThunderW team.

“I would like to thank Westpac, TIO, Power and Water, Cazalys, the AFL, the NT Government and other corporate supporters, and the wider community, for their support of the ThunderW team in our inaugural season,” Totham said.

The NT Thunder Women’s team will play its first VFLW match in Melbourne against reigning premiers Darebin Falcons on Saturday 5 May 2018.
