NT Thunder is pleased to announce the re-signing of premiership player Michael Hagan for a third consecutive season.

Hagan has played 16 games for NT Thunder after debuting in 2015 where he was awarded a NEAFL Rising Star nomination after his first game.

He has played 43 Premier League games for the Darwin Buffaloes in the NTFL following in the footsteps of his father, Norm Hagan, an NTFL legend who famously kicked 24 goals in a game, a record that still stands.

In 2015 Hagan was part of the AIS State Academy program and attended the NAB AFL Draft Camp in Melbourne.

The 20-year was also a solid contributor in the 2015 NEAFL premiership, kicking an important goal in NT Thunder’s one-point win over Aspley.

In 2016 he was a senior member of the AFLNT State Academy U18 squad, which fell under the remit of now NT Thunder Head Coach, Andrew Hodges.

Hodges described Hagan as a talented youngster.

“Michael’s evasive ability and decision making were a highlight for NT Thunder in the 2015 Premiership.

“It is pleasing to have him recommitted and working to showcase those talents again in 2017,” Hodges said.
