13.12.16 15:19

The ‘Lajamanu Lightning Bolt’, Liam Patrick, has re-signed to Thunder for the 2017 NEAFL season.

Patrick, who is best recognised for playing 13 AFL games for the Gold Coast SUNS after debuting in 2011 was also part of the 2015 NT Thunder premiership side.

Since joining Thunder in 2014 the forward has kicked 38 goals in the 27 games he has played.

Patrick has a remote playing contract, driving nine hours into Darwin to play, allowing him to still live in his beloved Lajamanu.

Head coach for NT Thunder, Andrew Hodges said that Patrick’s experience with playing professional football is invaluable both on and off the field.

“I am excited that Liam has re-committed for another NEAFL season and I am sure he will remain a strong focal point in our forward line.

“He plays an exciting brand of Territory football and adds another dimension to our structure,” Hodges said.

In 2017 Patrick will be sponsored by McDonald’s.
