To commemorate the 10th year of the Northern Territory (NT) Thunder Football Club a special commemorative guernsey will be worn this weekend by the Thunder men’s team as they take on the GWS Giants at TIO Stadium in Darwin.

The jumper is embedded with the name of every player to have played a game in the club’s 10-year history and contains over 220 names.

Inaugural team member and Thunder games record holder (184 games) Darren Ewing said pulling on the commemorative jumper would be a memorable occasion.

“To see everyone’s names listed on there will be a real highlight and it represents the involvement of so many great players who have played for the club,” he said.

“And to pull it on for a home game this weekend in front of our loyal supporters will be even better.”

From the Red Centre to the Tiwi Islands, players from all over the Territory have etched their name into Thunder’s history book.

Rioli, Ilett, Ewing, Tambling, Weetra, Dunne and Ankers feature on the jumper and 30 of them are in line for selection in the Team of the Decade which will be announced at the NT Thunder Team of the Decade Gala Ball on Saturday 23 June at the Darwin Convention Centre.

Tickets to the ball are now available by calling (08) 8980 4801 or emailing AFLNTevents@afl.com.au.
