A well-respected leader and one of NT Thunder’s favourites Richard Tambling is in line to play his 50th game for the Club after re-signing.

Currently on 47 Thunder career games, Tambling had an injury-interrupted 2017 but remained an active contributor, travelling more games than not from his home in Katherine.

A member of the leadership group since signing with the club in 2015, Tambling’s AFL experience shines through as he commands the midfield and the playing group’s attention.

The 2015 Thunder Club Champion has also recently returned to playing NTFL for Southern Districts, which NT Thunder Head Coach Andrew Hodges said would provide great conditioning for his star player.

“At the end of the NEAFL season, Richie said we had some unfinished business, and so I am thrilled to have him back in Thunder colours and also to see him playing NTFL, where I am sure a professional like him will succeed and only better himself.

“He spends time developing the younger players in the group and is an invaluable leader on and off the field. He deserves a great Thunder season, and I’m hoping together we deliver that,” he said.
