NT Thunder has strengthened its stocks in Alice Springs, with three youngsters; Jackson Cole, Dominic Forbes and Shawn Foster set to join the NEAFL squad in 2018.

All three are part of the Redtails Football Club program, have represented the Territory at a national level and played senior CAFL football last year.

At 16-years-old, Cole has played 14 games for Pioneers, which included 13 consistent performances in season 2017 where he established himself as a reliable defender.

Also, a defender, Forbes who turns 17 next month, plays for Federal in the CAFL and was awarded the 2017 Under 16 McAdam Medal for being the most valuable player in the Northern Territory Under 16 team.

Foster hails from Pioneers as well and at 17-years-old is an impressive midfielder who can also play forward.

NT Thunder Head Coach Andrew Hodges said the players had matured under the Redtails program and he was excited to give more young Territorians the chance to play at a professional level.

“The footy talent coming out of Central Australia is never-ending, and with the Redtails Football Club and Regional Academy, the players are honing their skills and attributes on and off the field.

“Jacko’s attack on the ball and opposition player is first-class, while Dom reads the play well and rebounds out of defence with confidence and Shawn has a relaxed demeanour, but his attack on the ball and evasive skills are impressive,” he said.
