At the 2019 Club Champion night, Parnell finished fourth in the Ilett Medal vote count and walked away with the INPEX Rookie of the Year and KIK Digital Community and Media Award. Coming back from a partial tear of the ACL in his right knee suffered in May 2017, Parnell made his NEAFL debut in Round 1 of the 2019 season. After perseverance and impressive playing performances Parnell was named the Round 12 NEAFL Rising Star. Recruited from the St Mary’s Football Club, he played in the premiership side as a 17-year-old. He is a classy medium-sized midfielder who can also play either end of the ground.
