The review of NT Thunder Football Club (NTFC) and associated talent programs will begin today, Wednesday 1 November 2017 with Bastion EBA travelling to Darwin to begin the process.

Bastion EBA CEO and ex-Western Bulldog footballer and CEO Simon Garlick will lead the review on behalf of AFLNT.

Since its inception in 2009 and with ongoing growth of the talent programs, NTFC has not had a comprehensive operational review.

With NTFC’s tenth anniversary looming, AFLNT CEO Michael Solomon says he feels it is time invest in the Club and talk to various stakeholders about the business and the development of a program that caters for both female and male participants throughout the Northern Territory.

“Simon Garlick along with Rod Woodford, Head of Strategy for Bastion EBA, will come to Darwin to talk to local club people, players past and present, staff, volunteers and people from all over the NT to get a wide scope of what the football public wants and needs,” Solomon said.

“Bastion EBA has a thorough understanding of the political environment and structure with regards to sport, participation and engagement, and I’m confident that the final report will give the outcomes to ensure the NTFC will continue to grow and prosper in the football landscape in the NT”.

“The review will cover areas such as reviewing the club objectives, financial modelling, branding, talent pathways, player management plans, NTFL club interaction and national programming, just to name a few areas and we expect a comprehensive report by the end of December,” Solomon said.

“This is more of a strategic assessment than a review of those running the club, we are more than happy with Head Coach, Andrew Hodges and the support staff,” Solomon said.

More recently Bastion EBA completed an independent review of Australian Football in Tasmania on behalf of the AFL Commission.
