Ready for Redland with five ins

NT Thunder travel to Queensland this weekend with five changes to the playing team. They will take on Redland in Round 14 of the 2018 NEAFL season.

Ex-AFL player Liam ‘The Lajamanu Lightning Bolt’ Patrick and versatile player Daniel Weetra will don the Thunder colours for the first time this season. Patrick brings invaluable experience to the team, while Weetra possesses a dynamic skill set that allows him to positively impact the play.

After nursing a knee injury sustained in Round 11, when Thunder came up against Canberra Demons, Patrick Boles makes his return to the field. Joining him is consistent performer, Shaun Wilson and tall-timber Scott McLeod.

Players out this week are Tom Davies (suspended), Patrick Heenan (injured), Jack Munkara (injured), Ryan Smith (unavailable) and Patrick White (omitted).

NT Thunder Head Coach Andrew Hodges said that the correct measures have been put in place to re-write the wrongs of the last time these two teams met.

“We know after our last encounter that no game in this competition can be taken lightly and that’s exactly the mindset that we’ll have, leading into this week’s game.

“Extensive reviews have been done in the lead up to this match to ensure that we play the full four quarters of footy.

“I can’t wait for the boys to get out there this week and show the Bombers the brand of Territory footy that we know we’re capable of,” Hodges said.
