NT Thunder is excited to announce Joe Anderson has returned to the Territory and will pull on the famed ochre jumper for the first time since captaining the NT Under-18s at national level.

Now, 29-years-old the Darwin Buffaloes product moved from the Top End after being drafted to Carlton in the 2006 National Draft.

With 17 AFL games experience under his belt and more than 140 senior games at VFL and SANFL level, he has come home.

Hailing from a long lineage of NT football greats and one of the Buffs’s favourite sons, Anderson has been a standout in the 12 NTFL Premier League games he has played this season.

NT Thunder Head Coach Andrew Hodges said he was genuinely delighted to have Anderson’s experience and talent to add to an already robust NT Thunder list.

“I am really pleased with this signing. Other than the evident skills Joey has, what he is most going to add to our squad is leadership and that invaluable experience of playing at a high level over an extended period.

“He is clean in defence and a workhorse when he runs through the middle so to have a player of his calibre come home and wear the NT Thunder jumper is a privilege,” he said.
