Michael Bowden and Jack Shannahan have committed to NT Thunder for 2017 for their third and second seasons respectively.

Both players are known for their fast feet, with Bowden the current NT Thunder record-holder in the beep test (16.1) and Shannahan a regular frontrunner in the time trials.

Shannahan, who plays for Palmerston in the NTFL, had an injury-interrupted first season in the Territory colours but finished 2016 with a solid 12 games.

Bowden, who is a Southern Districts product, has played 32 NT Thunder games to-date and will be looking to build on his status as a consistent small defender.

NT Thunder Head Coach, Andrew Hodges believes Bowden’s endurance and run is one of his biggest strengths.

“Bowdo gives us a lot of drive off half back and can play on the wing.

“He gives us outside run which is important for us in playing the Territory brand of footy,” Hodges said.

On Shannahan, Hodges said he was looking forward to having him on the selection list each round.

“It’s pleasing that Jack has recommitted to the Club, his versatility and poise with the ball in hand is invaluable to the side.”

In 2017 Michael Bowden will be sponsored by HPA and Darwin Private Hospital will sponsor Jack Shannahan.
