17.12.16 09:35

Jonathan ‘Boyo’ Peris is in line for his 50th NT Thunder game after agreeing to play on for the Club in 2017.

Having amassed 47 NEAFL games to date, it will be Peris’s fourth season representing the Territory.

Recognised as an all-round sports performer and high achiever, Peris is from a line of famous sporting genes, with family members Nova and Brooke competing for Australia at the Olympics in hockey and athletics.

On the footy field he is a regular in defence and the Nightcliff product has been a solid defender for Thunder to-date.

NT Thunder Head Coach Andrew Hodges said Peris was a player he was glad to have back in the Thunder fold.

“Jono’s ability to run and carry will be a strong asset to the club in 2017.

“It is fantastic that he has committed to playing for Thunder and we know he will bring a very professional attitude to the group,” Hodges said.

McDonald’s will sponsor Peris for season 2017.
