One of NT Thunder’s favourites, Richard Tambling has kick-started the #12daysThunderXmas campaign by signing on for his third NEAFL season.

Every day over the next 12 days a new player or NT Thunder event will be announced in preparation for the Club’s first season under the direction of Andrew Hodges.

Tambling is also the fourth member of the 2016 leadership group to commit to playing next season.

The 30-year-old, who was the 2015 NT Thunder Club Champion, played 15 games in 2016 and made the trip from Katherine, where he is based, on a regular basis.

Hodges said having a player of Tambling’s professionalism and abilities was a welcome gift after taking the reigns.

“I am really excited Richard has committed to the Club in 2017.

“The leadership he brings on and off the field is invaluable. His knowledge and experience on-field will be an integral part in helping to develop any youngsters in the group,” Hodges said.

In 2017 Tambling will be sponsored by Darwin Private Hospital.
